Current Trait Factor Career Assessment: A Cognitive-Interactional PerspectiveVirginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Commonwealth University A trait factor perspective on career assessment is presented. Adult career client and initial assessment issues are emphasized. A diagnostic taxonomy and conceptual models within person- environment psychology are used to guide the discussion. Specific assessment issues, strategies, and instruments for career choice and adjustment difficulties are reviewed. Trait factor career counseling is characterized as a model that is evolving through integrative efforts. Advances are moving this model in the direction of an articulated theory of career counseling.
